We began this project in January 2017 to give people with disabilities around the world the opportunity to tell their own stories and share a week in their lives. For too long, our narratives have been told by everyone except us. @WeAreDisabled wants to help change that by adding to the growing list of outlets giving disabled people a voice.
Each week a different guest will take over the account to talk about whatever they want. Their rotation will then be archived using Wakelet and the link added to this site (here). The project is managed and staffed by people with disabilities, and was founded by @cinnamaldehyde and @starrybryte .
@WeAreDisabled provides a platform for engagement and discussion, giving insight into the lives and diversity of disabled people, as well as understanding that while our disability is an integral part of us, it is not all of who we are.
